Sandipan was arrested following an interrogation by the SIT team in connection with the singer’s death.

He had accompanied Zubeen Garg to Singapore and was among those present on the yacht when Zubeen tragically lost his life under mysterious circumstances.

Last week, Zubeen’s manager Siddhartha Sharma and organiser of the Singapore festival Shyamkanu Mahanta were also arrested in the high-profile case.

The case has taken a dramatic turn over the past week with multiple arrests linked to the incident as investigators examine any possible foul play.

They have reportedly widened their inquiry to include financial irregularities and communication records of all those aboard the yacht.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has vowed “no one, regardless of position or relation, will be spared if found guilty”, assuring the people that his government would ensure a transparent and impartial investigation.
